Working hours: 37.5 hours per week
Salary: £38,481 per annum
Location: Horsham, with some flexibility required on occasion to provide support across other services in the region.

Turning Tides is offering a rare and exciting opportunity for a resilient; skilled and passionate manager to shape brand-new residential service in Horsham. This service is unprecedented in the area and the role offers significant scope to apply creativity and flexible thinking in order to fulfil the aim to end local homelessness.

Established 30 years ago, Turning Tides is a multifunctional, complex needs homelessness charity. Their mission is to end local homelessness. They have gone from supporting a handful of people in the coastal town of Worthing to providing a range of services to over 1,700 people in Worthing, Adur, Littlehampton, Horsham and Mid Sussex. They have over 10,000 supporters, 300 volunteers and 160 staff members to date.

THE ROLE

• Providing high support, and within this, options for tailored, specialist provision; onsite activity and multiagency support, this new service will be a genuine place of opportunity.
• You will lead a newly established team to develop, evaluate and adapt the service to meet the unique needs and aspirations of clients, including those who may have substance issues, dual diagnosis or mental health conditions or have experienced multiple exclusions from services.
• You will ensure a personalised approach to work with people to manage risk and reduce associated harm from substance use and multiple exclusion, ending the need to sleep rough.
• You will contribute to the strategic development of this service and the organisation at a time of growth and expansion.

ABOUT YOU

To join us as Homelessness Services Manager, in addition to proven experience of successfully delivering high quality services within the voluntary or public sector, you will also have:

• Outstanding leadership skills with the ability to identify and develop talent and support individual and team development.
• A track record of collaboratively delivering on change and innovation within services or an organisation.
• A strong understanding of the homeless sector and the factors that lead to and magnify the impact of homelessness on individuals and communities.
• A strong understanding of mental health, substance misuse, addiction, dual diagnosis and harm minimisation approaches.
• Good IT skills specifically around the use of databases and excel and interpreting data to improve outcomes.
• Able to influence both internally and externally.
• A creative, flexible and collaborative approach.
