Recruiting Organisation: Citizens Advice in West Sussex (North, South, East)

Working hours: 24-37 hours per week
Salary: £34,000 p.a pro-rata
Contract: 2 Year Fixed Term Contract
Location: Horsham

Citizens Advice West Sussex is a local charity providing free independent advice in West Sussex. They are looking for an experienced Housing Solicitor to develop an exciting new housing casework project and pro bono programme.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and manage a new housing casework project
• Deliver high-quality housing advice and meet Legal Aid Agency Housing Law requirements
• Demonstrate understanding of vulnerable clients’ needs and provide holistic support
• Prevent homelessness through excellent negotiation and advocacy
• Represent clients in court
• Supervise pro bono student and corporate placements
• Collaborate with engagement teams to showcase project impact
• Develop funding opportunities

Qualifications:

• Experience delivering housing casework
• Knowledge of the Specialist Quality Mark
• Highly organized and self-motivated
• Excellent negotiation and advocacy skills
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
