Senior Community Developer, Mid Sussex

Working hours: 30-37 hours, Monday to Friday * to be discussed with the succesful candidate

Location: Hybrid – across Mid Sussex, with an office base at Lamb House, Haywards Heath

Salary : £28,100 FTE

 

The Role:

This is an exciting role for someone who will lead, develop and manage services for the benefit of older people in Mid Sussex. Working in partnership with colleagues, key stakeholders, local organisations and communities, this will mean high quality, impactful services and activities for older people.

Aims are to promote the well-being of all older people, make later life a fulfilling and enjoyable experience, reduce any barriers that cause social isolation and loneliness and thus enable older people to flourish.

Ultimately, you’ll be a part of a solution that enables older people to increase their resilience and connectivity so that they can enjoy later life, feel part of their local community and feel less lonely.

What you will need to be successful in the role:

  • They are looking for a confident and enthusiastic person who understands community development and true partnership working, who enjoys working as part of a team and is solution focused.
  • You will need a great understanding of Mid Sussex and the local third sector in order to be successful at this role.
  • You will need to be a self-starter with excellent organisational, communication and leadership skills to drive forward our ambition for Mid Sussex.
  • You will have an understanding of and an interest in older people, their situations and the opportunities they may want and/or need.
  • You should have proven community development skills.
  • You should have the ability to network well, to work in sound partnership and build excellent relationships both internally and externally.
  • A can-do, positive and professional attitude that can flex and adapt to change and challenges with the skills to manage conflict effectively.
